Do you ever have places where you are certain you must have lived there in a former life? I get that feeling in parts of San Francisco, Seattle, and Portland, especially in the old wood buildings down by the waterfront. Western bars that are dark and dusty give me the vibe too. Obviously, right? None of us would feel like we spent a former life in a new subdivision or a modern urban development. It has to be an old place for our past life to have been there. But I get the feeling with landscapes, and I think moments too.
This is one of those places, especially in Henningsvær which felt like a Steinbeck town (like Salinas or Monterey) just way farther north with giant mountains rising from the sea. Henningsvær felt like it had Cannery Row characters too. The whole place felt like it was full of personality, but maybe that was because the days were so long. Or maybe because I have some innate familiarity with it already.
