Stockholm, old dear Stockholm.
I inherited a piece of art of the founding of Stockholm from my Norwegian grandmother and the city has always held a mystique over me, like San Francisco. And like San Francisco it is magnificent, colorful, and connected to water. The city is built on islands and peninsulas, connected now by bridges with the small island Gamle Stan (old town) at its center. All the pictures I took in Stockholm were in Gamle Stan or pointed at Gamle Stan. As I walked its busy, winding streets, here are a few things I found:
·      Swedish IPA and beer buzzed wandering
·      A Netflix TV show shoot
·      Better tourist stores than in Norway
·      A phenomenal open faced shrimp salad sandwich
·      An awesome heavy metal record store
·      Trees growing in cobblestoned, cornered intersections
·      Cafes with aquavit and late Nordic sunsets
·      Sunrise and an old town waking up
